Hey, Guys,
I am enjoying reading about your adventures. Stan and I did this trek back in 1976. Back then, there was no charge to go through the Badlands;they were, however, putting up the booths at that time.
Did you see another mountain carving after leaving Rushmore? It was in the very early stages back when -- Chief Crazy Horse or something similar? (You might have missed it since it was dark when you ventured out of there...)
